Childbirth Class Options at RWG
We are happy to offer childbirth instruction to the patients of Renaissance Women’s Group. The physicians want patients to be aware of their philosophy, available birth options and allow you an opportunity to ask questions. Classes are taught by qualified nurses. Our childbirth classes consist of a thorough explanation of the labor and delivery process with an emphasis on a variety of relaxation techniques for labor. We will also discuss anesthesia options, Cesarean sections, variations of the birthing experience and much more.
Our Saturday classes also contain basic breastfeeding information and positive parenting concepts. We offer weekday evening classes OR you may choose our weekend day classes. Classes are taught by qualified nurses. Childbirth classes are offered on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
- Taught by a Labor and Delivery nurse, this class will include stages of labor, when to call for labor, information on the hospital stay, an overview and practice of breathing and relaxation techniques you will use for natural labor or before you receive your epidural. A variety of positions used to enhance labor will be demonstrated. This class also briefly touches on variations of normal labor, such as inductions, interventions and c-sections.
- Entertaining and insightful, Kathy’s 2 day comprehensive course is designed to present ALL the topics in the other childbirth classes. Including but not limited to: the birth experience, massage and pain management, positions that facilitate faster deliveries, Lamaze breathing methods, postpartum support, positive parenting concepts and tools, breast feeding positions and latch-on tips.
A fun & interactive class designed to teach you the skills you need for those first weeks with your baby!
When a family is expecting a new baby, it can be hard for an older brother or sister to know what to do, what to expect or how to feel. This class was designed to help prepare young children, between the ages of 3 to 7, for changes that will occur when the new baby arrives and how to be a great sibling!
Learn quick, fun, responsible parenting techniques and concepts that will help you and your child have loving, respectful relationships that will last generations!
This class is an American Heart Association class taught by Nancy Kirk, RN.
Cathy Clark is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant who offers Breastfeeding class outside of Renaissance Women’s Group. For more information and to register, please call her office at 512-873-0700 or visit www.ababysbeststart.com
