Misty Danielson grew up in Minnesota and graduated from Nursing School at the University of North Dakota in 1984. She was recognized on the National Dean's List in 1981-82 and was a member of Phi Eta Sigma.

She moved to Austin in 1984 and began working in cardiology at St. David's Medical Center. She then spent five years working in the Intensive Care Unit. She began working in Women's Health Care in Labor and Delivery in 1989. She joined Seton Medical Center in 1990. She worked as a Charge Nurse both in ICU and in Labor and Delivery. While employed at Seton she was involved in education for nursing staff in outlying hospitals. She started teaching prepared childbirth classes in 1992. She graduated in the top of her class from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School as a Women's Health Care Nurse Practitioner in 1998. She has been working closely with Dr. Linda Litzinger since 1993.

She is recognized by the State Board of Nursing in Texas as an Advanced Practice Nurse in Women's Health Care. She is certified by the National Certification Corporation for Obstetric, Gynecologic and Neonatal Nursing Specialties. She is a member of AWHONN, The Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Services and The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

She is married and has two grown daughters. She enjoys traveling, movies, tennis, golf, snow skiing and spending time with her grandson.

She is committed to caring for women and their families and educating them to improve their quality of life with close collaboration with other health care professionals.
