Kim Schneider grew up in Kansas and graduated from the University of Kansas in 1993, with degrees in biology and political science. She received a bachelor of science in nursing in 1998, graduating summa cum laude and continued her education at the University of Pennsylvania, receiving a master of science in nursing in the Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Program in 1999. She and her husband then moved to Austin where she began her career as a nurse practitioner.

Kim is recognized by Texas Board of Nurse Examiners as an Advanced Practice Nurse in Women's Health Care. She is certified by the National Certification Corporation for Obstetric, Gynecologic and Neonatal Nursing Specialties. She especially enjoys providing education and support to women through the changes of life, especially adolescence and pregnancy.

When not at work, Kim enjoys spending time with her husband, Dave and her three young boys, Will, Jack and Cole, working in her flower gardens and scrap booking.
