If you have given birth before and want to "freshen up" on various relaxation/comfort techniques to use in labor, this is the class for you! 

Content will include:

*Hospital routines & policies

*Stages of labor

*Relaxation and comfort techniques for each stage of labor

*Sharing of past labor experience(s) & desires for upcoming experience...learn from others!

*Time for Q&A

 

Class will meet for 1 1/2 to 2 hours on the 2nd Wednesday of the month in Suite 215.  Class will start at 6:00 pm.  Cost:  $45 couple.

 Class space is limited.  The optimal time to enroll is during your 7th - 8th month of pregnancy (28th - 36th week).

Michele Hackney, MSN, R.N.

In 1990, following graduation from nursing school at the University of Hawaii, I began my career as a psychiatric-mental health nurse. During this time I worked with a diverse population in a variety of settings and held professional certification in the field. Since 1998, I have had the pleasure of working in women’s health. After three years experience in labor and delivery, I began working with the physicians of the Renaissance Women’s Group. 

Because I am a lifelong learner and enjoy teaching, I decided to further my education. In 2009, I completed graduate studies at Walden University, earning a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Nursing Education. Building on personal and professional experience, coupled with specialized training in education, I am prepared to offer educational classes that are student-centered and fun. As your family grows, I am honored to assist you in meeting your educational needs.
