Annual Wellness Begins with Daily Habits
You visit an ObGyn for an annual well woman visit, but we are here for you all year long. Whether you need information on family planning or general wellness, the clinical care team is available to answer your questions. We hope that you will consider us first as a trusted source for gynecological concerns, and maintaining your general health.
Renaissance Women’s Group sees teens for their first annual well woman visits, and recommends that you schedule an annual exam after the age of 21. If this is your first well woman visit, please let us know. We will help schedule an adolescent well care visit to explain what to expect with a pelvic examination, breast examination and health screening.
We Provide Preventative Care.
You know that an ObGyn will help you with family planning, pregnancy care and menopause management. Renaissance Women’s Group and its team of ObGyn doctors also advise patients on general wellness, and treat complex health concerns. You can turn to us for everything from stress management to cancer screening.
Embracing a healthy lifestyle, with attention paid to heart health, nutrition and weight, will pay off now, and in the future. Maintaining a healthy weight, for instance, enhances your fertility and protects against many diseases, including certain cancers, heart disease and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). Smoking cigarettes can also lead to many adverse health problems, so ask your ObGyn for help in finding a smoking cessation program.
When Should You Visit an ObGyn? Before You Get Pregnant.
When it’s time to get ready for pregnancy, your ObGyn is the source for prenatal care and advice on timed intercourse and optimizing your chances for getting pregnant. You should be taking 400 micrograms of folic acid (or, eating a bowl of fortified cereal with the equivalent amount!) and up-to-date on your vaccinations. Nothing is more important to your ObGyn than your health, and the health of your baby.
Your ObGyn has extensive experience and fellowship training in women’s health issues, and we can help you mitigate or manage symptoms of many common problems, from PMS to menopause. For a lifetime of good health and wellness, schedule your well woman visit, and stay connected with your ObGyn whenever problems arise.
