Jennifer Uxer, D.O., is a board certified OB/GYN trained in minimally invasive surgery
Jennifer Uxer, D.O., joined Renaissance Women’s Group in 2017. As part of our Austin obgyn team, Dr. Uxer provides patients with compassionate, expert care in gynecology, obstetrics and surgical management. She excels at minimally invasive and robotic surgical techniques.
Dr. Uxer has a diverse background that includes a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from Baylor University. She worked as an electrical engineer before completing her medical training at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth. During medical school, Dr. Uxer was elected to the Sigma Sigma Phi Honor Society as part of an honorary osteopathic service fraternity.
For her residency in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Uxer moved north to Allentown, Pennsylvania, where she completed her training, in conjunction with Penn State University, at the Lehigh Valley Health Network hospital in Allentown. She served as the administrative chief resident and was honored with the Medical Student Teacher award and the Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals Best Teaching Resident award.
After her residency training was completed, in addition to practicing medicine, Dr. Uxer went on to provide education and training for future healthcare professionals. She taught medical students and residents in the Lehigh Valley Health Network hospitals and has served as a volunteer lecturer for labor and delivery nurses, graduate nurses and nursing students while working as an Austin obgyn.
Dr. Uxer is a member of several medical societies, including: The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), the American Medical Association (AMA), the Texas Medical Association (TMA), and the Travis County Medical Society (TCMS). She is also board certified by the American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She has been published in Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology and has given many medical presentations.
When Dr. Uxer isn’t busy helping patients, she enjoys traveling, hiking, gardening, running, cooking, reading and playing the piano, as well as spending time with her husband and pets. She also speaks medical Spanish.
